April’s been an insane month for me. I gave an hour-long talk on climate at the Monterey Institute (which featured my first-ever PowerPoint presentation!), which I believe was recorded and might be available some time soon (assuming I don’t watch it and decide to delete all copies). Then I went to Pierson College at Yale at did a Master’s Tea, which turns out to be sitting around and chatting with Master Harvey Goldblatt, who turns out to be a delightfully charming and avuncular old scholar of medieval Slavic Christianity whom I now want as an extra grandpa.
Then earlier this week I went down to Olympia for a TEDx thing and gave a 15-minute talk (which featured my second-ever PowerPoint presentation!). It will also be on video shortly.
Now I’m headed out to Cambridge for a Journalists Forum on Land and the Built Environment put on by the Nieman Foundation for Journalism, the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy, and the Harvard University Graduate School of Design — two days of wonking out about cities. I’m back Sunday, hosting a live chat with Van Jones on Monday (tune in for that!), and then heading to San Francisco on Tuesday for a Grist Board meeting.
All of which is by way of apologizing for my spotty output over the last few weeks (and, er, the week to come). Things should settle down in May.
