I am in the midst of writing up a Valentine’s Day menu and I thought I’d include “Angels on Horseback” as the appetizer (aka oysters wrapped in bacon). But I have made the grim discovery that it is no longer possible to buy shucked oysters in Massachusetts!
Whole Foods, Legal Seafood, and Summer Shack have all said that it’s no longer legal for them to sell shucked oysters. If you go to the raw bar at LS and SS they can serve you shucked oysters on the premises, but you can’t get it “to go.” Just thought I’d let you know …
