Two students, Saskia Kretzschmann and Vera Danilina, created this short, meditative film that considers the features of the countryside in Dessau, Germany, and the city (New York City) side by side.
It’s probably not wise to try to analyze this video too much — there’s a certain mystery and magic to it. But as people who write about cities and about plants and animals and the natural world all the time, let us just say that we’re glad we’re not the only ones who see some sort of connection.
