Prince Charles busted out with a strong message on Tuesday: This economic stuff is scary, but climate change is the real crisis.
Word. But it turns out Chuck ain’t the only one using this device. Depending whom you ask, the real crisis being overshadowed by financial turmoil is: green building (“can’t wait”), clean energy (“can’t wait”), concerted action on the environment (“offers a massive financial return”), Indonesia’s fragile ecosystems (“we are going to allow a financial crisis to turn into an ecological catastrophe”), the transition to a clean-energy economy (“not some luxury that we can afford only in good financial times”), the global food crisis (“far from over”), deforestation (“costs more than the financial crisis”), and the loss of natural capital (“costs more than the bank crisis”).
The good news is, the agro-industrial sphere of Ukraine is doing just fine.
