We’ve written about DIY bike signals before. But now Lifehacker has turned up another set, and these are WAY easier to make.

Help Grist raise $25,000 by September 30 to further advance our climate reporting

Materials:

  • Mittens with flip-up fingers
  • Reflective tape
  • Scissors
  • That’s it

The Instructables user who made this writes, “Since I don’t have ultra cool reflective clothing or a lot of money, I came up with this.”

Really, there’s no excuse! So go forth and tape up some mittens. And assuming you’re a good person who already uses hand signals while biking, you’ll become that much more noticeable to cars and other cyclists.
