For what it’s worth, Politico is reporting that Lisa Jackson is probably going to be Obama’s pick to head the Environmental Protection Agency. “It seems like it’s pretty close to a done deal. She’ll be a very strong candidate,” says an anonymous Democratic Senate aide.
Jackson is currently serving on Obama’s transition team for the EPA. She is the commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, where she is overseeing the implementation of the state’s landmark climate plan, and Gov. Jon Corzine (D) recently tapped her to be his next chief of staff. During the Clinton years, she managed the EPA’s regional office in New York for the Superfund program.
