Golden eagles normally eat rabbits. But sometimes, like a kid looking at a big slice of cake, irrational desire hits them and they try to eat it all.

Its carcass was found two weeks later, just a few yards from the camera, initially puzzling researchers … “There were no large carnivore tracks in the snow, and it looked like the deer had been running and then just stopped and died,” said lead author Dr. Linda Kerley.

But, nope, it was an eagle feast, which we imagine looked something like Bruce Bogtrotter trying to eat Miss Trunchbull’s entire chocolate cake:
