If you thought Björk and Sigur Rós had a monopoly on pretty, haunting Icelandic music, you need to wrap your ears around Árstíðir, a hard-to-spell group that gave an amazing impromptu a cappella concert in a train station:
You wouldn’t think a train station would be the BEST place to sing, what with the TRAINS and all, but the acoustics in the cavernous space make it seem more like a cathedral than a transit stop. If only every morning commute sounded this nice.
So if you’re inspired to belt out “Drivin’ my train, high on cocaine” the next time you’re waiting for the L, since that’s probably the best you can manage, well, we won’t stop you. (Although we can’t vouch for your fellow passengers.)
