Tony Tasset, a multimedia artist and sculptor whose work includes a giant model of his own eyeball installed in a vacant lot in Dallas, has a thing for snowmen. For the past few years, he’s been making a series of them. Here’s one from 2006:

But there’s one key difference between these snowmen and the ones you made in your yard as a kid: They’re not made out of snow. Instead, they’re a combination of materials like bronze, resin, foam, epoxy, enamel, fiberglass, brass, and steel. In other words, they’re impervious to climate change, which means that one day they might be some of the only snowmen we’ve got left.
